Christopher is 20 Months old today!

20 Months old today, 6/14. I can't believe it. He's going to be two before we know it. He's already so much more of a little boy than the little baby he's been for so long. He's a walking, talking miniature version of both David and I. He is fun, he's entertaining, he has a wonderful personality, can have a temper if it's too close to nap time, listens well, eats great, is out wonderful little man.

What's he up to?
I think he has a new word almost every day. He said printer the other day to David and I think David almost cried of joy. He can say quite a lot. He's really good with his Thank-you's, saying it and signing it. He can throw and kick a ball. He can climb up on the sofa and different chairs. He loves to read.

He loves to stack toys and is enjoying more freedom around the house. We are working on walking up stairs, but just starting that slowly. He's showing more of an interest in the potty, so that's nice, but no real progress (and that's fine). He will eat just about anything but he's a funny eater. Some days he's really eat anything and you can't give him enough food. But some days he's so picky and just wants the basics and won't even eat what he was woofing down just the other day. We try to go with the flow, and really let him decide on "quantity" mommy and daddy are still the deciders on "type of food". It's really hard not to break out different foods when he won't eat what's in front of him. But I don't want to become (as some other mom's call it) a short-order cook to my kid.

And, he has some of the best facial expressions and a wonderful personality in the world (yes, I'm biased)

Here he is after dinner watching a little Thomas the Train ("Choo Choo" as Christopher calls him)

All in all, he's a good kid. He still sleeps through the night (knock on wood), he's in bed by 7:30/8pm and up between 6:30-7:30am. Even if he gets up at 6:30am, he usually will stay in bed and chat up his stuffed friends for up to 45 minutes before we go in to get him.

The one bragging point I have is his puzzles. We had some puzzles for him that he was just flying through, he'd stick the pieces in without barely looking. David and I looked at the back and they were for up to 2 years old (this was about a month ago), so we went out and got him some harder ones, then a friend gave us a bunch of her sons that he doesn't use. He's now struggling with some (which he should, they are all 2+ and most 3+) but there are a few he's already doing so well with. There's one of a farm scene. The pieces are covering animals or people under them. So all he has to match them on his the random shape of the pile of hay, or the bushes covering the ducks in the pond, or he can remember which goes where. In the week we've have them, he's mastered it. Last night, he'd just run through them, grabbing pieces and without hesitation, putting it where it went and even rotating it as needed. If you can't tell, I'm proud of our little man :)
