Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Sunday we went to the Folsom City Zoo and Sanctuary. It was definitely more of a sanctuary than a zoo, but perfect to take a 19 month old to. Short and sweet. Plus with the heat a lot of the animals were asleep. Dad and I took him and we had a lot of fun.

The peacocks were everywhere and LOUD!

Christopher really enjoyed seeing the bear, especially since he ended up getting up and moving around. "roar!"

Yeah, bad pic, and it appears I'm getting a little side-eye from him.

And then we went over to the train! Grandpa took Christopher on the train so that mommy could take photos. He loved it!

Getting ready!!

It took awhile to get going once they sat down and I think he got a little squirmy. That all stopped once they got going.

Choo Choo!

This is what Christopher does now when you tell him to close his eyes, and how he plays peek-a-boo (of course he shouts boo when he covers his eyes)

I think he's just realized what's going on :)

A series of close-ups prior to the train leaving that I just love. I love my camera :)

Trains, Boats and Lunch

Ok, now we are finally to photos from our holiday weekend up north.

We headed straight up when we all woke on Friday and went to Old Sac. We took Christopher to the train museum which he loved. They were amazing! So big. Christopher kept saying "choo chooo!" the whole way through.

Boys and their toys!

After lunch we headed to the hotel for nap time then dinner with Tim, Melissa and the twins! Yummy!

Cowboy hats and boots

Christopher was pleasantly surprised to find more of his older baby things at home the other day, plus a handed down cowboy hat and boots from some friends. He was instantly smitten :)

Toy, hat... oooh, shoes!

If you look at his left leg, it's slightly raised. That's because he was trying to climb into it. He kept saying "up, up"

Oooh... swing!

This was an interesting attempt.

And just some cute photos.

Playing...

Christopher has been doing really well with the added freedom of the great room. He seems to understand "rug" and so I can tell him to go back to the rug to play if he wanders off. Half the time he does it, the other half, he understands, but plays the role of toddler very well and still walks off :)

So serious with you bedhead little man!

The places his sippy cups end up... got to keep them at arms reach!

Birds

No, this isn't about this movie. This is about Christopher's new favorite animal. Is it any coincidence that it's also Spartan's favorite animal (for different reasons I believe though).

Of course, while I'm taking these, Spartan is whimpering and Christopher is saying "ah ah ah" the bird sounds :)

And yes, my child has no pants on again.

Shirts and Diapers... no pants?

This is what happens when try to use the potty but still want to play after and mommy doesn't want to worry about putting the pants back on.

He was playing with the dogs here. Running away then sitting and having them come give kisses. Good times.

Lot's to catch up on.

I know we've been MIA but we have an excuse... we've been on vacation. Yes, that was only for the long weekend, but before that we had a lot going on, sick baby, packing planning, etc. So I have a lot of photos and videos to post so I'll break this up into a bunch of different posts.

Okay, going way back. These are from 5-17 and dinner time with Mommy and playing with Daddy before he had to go. Christopher's personality is so fun. His vocabulary and sign language is getting better all the time.

I love his smiles and his "huh?" expressions...
