Lick it!

I've started giving Christopher the occasional dessert of a graham cracker with a thin layer of nutella on it. (It has no peanuts so he's fine with it).

This is what happened when he was done with it the other night :)

Big boys use cups!

Christopher has decided he wants to use a big boy cup. Not a sippy cup, not a cup with a straw, a cup. WITH NO LID! Luckily his awesome bibs catch any minor (and not so minor) spills. He's pretty good, I think he's used them at daycare a few times.

And yes, that is a normal breakfast for him. That's homemade pancakes with syrup (extra to dip), his strawberries are already gone and a piece of toast in it's place (it was too hard and he didn't eat it), yogurt and a glass of milk. He's have an enormous breakfast, a normal lunch and a small dinner. (Which is what the nutritionists tell us to do right?? He's already ahead of the game)

He likes to dip the pieces...

Love this shot :)

And a random shot of Cody that made it on my camera. Technically this is what they do while Christopher eats.... while Christopher tells them "back cody!". Gotta love that tongue!

Spoons and Things Part 1

We've been fairly lucky when we feed Christopher that it doesn't end up a complete mess. I mean, we are the ones doing all of the work, it would technically be our fault if it ends up all over the place right?

Well, we've delved into a new realm of feeding our child. We aren't, he's starting to feed himself. The whole, "this isn't so bad of a mess" thing is gone, over, kaput.

So we started out by buying these:

Yes, you can find a baby gadget for every baby need. They are awesome I think. They suction to the table/highchair and sometimes we can't even get them off. When we go to a restaurant I can even just put them on his table and voila!

We stuck on his bib, rolled up the sleeves (like this would really help at all), put the dogs outside (since Christopher likes to "feed" the dogs) and we started.

Oh my... I think it's everywhere!!!

He does like his food.

Of course, he doesn't seem to get the idea of the spoon. Daddy was cooling it down my poking at it and stirring it around, he caught on to it too quick.

Attempt #2 next with a special guest appearance.

Independence

Now if Junior could just learn to change his own diapers, we'd be set.

Just kidding. We've been working on the self feeding for a little bit. I just picked up these really cool bowls that suction to his tray so he can't move it off his tray. It worked great and he's on his way. I know this is only going to get messier... fun times!
