This past weekend was beautiful and we joined my parents for dinner on the deck with my cousin and her family. It was such a nice day and evening and we even got to see the eclipse with some extra fun from it.
Forrest and "bama" or whatever he decides to call her when the time comes.
I got these fun shots on my camera of the eclipse...
What was even cooler was that my parent's little disco ball hanging in the tree reflected the eclipse on to other things on the deck.
Like the wall, the chair and Forrest's exersaucer.
It was amazing that at 7pm it was still warm enough to eat outside. I'm hoping for the same this coming weekend.
Forrest enjoying his cereal (well after anyways as you can see on his bib)
Christopher holding court with Merrill's daughter and her best friend.
Great evening, great food and great company!

Moving and shaking...
Forrest is starting to move, move, move. He really wants nothing to do with sitting, just wants to get down and move on to other toys. He wants to stand and move, however, his body is obviously not cooperating. Christopher and I played with Forrest Sunday morning and it was fun to let the kids interact and play a bit together.
His new thing... all limbs up in the air. Then he scoots around his tummy using his feet to push and his hands to rotate. Pretty funny.
LOVE THIS. (that's all)
Christopher is so good with him. Wants to give him toys, share with him, show him how things work, give him kisses, give him hugs, tickle him, rub his head. And obviously Forrest is just as smitten with his older brother by the looks he gives him.
Big brother in his new favorite hat. Michigan State Spartans!
Senior and Junior working on seasoning the new grill and smoker. I can't wait to smoke something in it.

Lazy Saturday
The best Saturday's around, Lazy Saturday's. Where we futz around the house, hang out with the boys and just enjoy being together. Saturday we made a quick run to Farmer's Market (sorry no photos) then came home for the rest of the day. David worked on his new grill while Christopher napped and I was able to get some photos of Forrest at the same time.
Forrest's nap. I know it's blurry but he was in the swing and it was just too cute. He'll sleep like that for an hour or two. He takes his longest and best naps in his crib but that doesn't always work out.
And here is the mega photo unload of Forrest. He is obviously teething right now. So anything goes. He stopped using the pacifiers at about 3 or 4 months old, but we've given them back since he uses them to teeth with (or his hand, or a toy, or your hand, doesn't matter to him)

Forrest's 6-month stats
So I took Forrest to his 6 month check-up today. Technically he was 6 1/2 months old.
Weight: 15lb 7oz
Length: 26"
Head Circumference: 44cm / 17.3 in
Percentiles (from babycenter.com's calculator)
Length = in percentile 25
Weight = between percentile 10 and 25
Head Circumference = between percentile 50 and 75
__________________________________________________________
For comparison his 4 month stats were:
Weight: 11lb 10oz (so he gained almost 4 lbs since this appointment, 1 1/2 pounds of this just since I took him in on 5/10 for their colds!!)
Length: 24.25 (He grew almost 2 full inches since this appointment)
Head Circumference: 16" (almost 1 1/2" growth).

What is awesome in the increase in percentile across the board. I was a very happy momma!
The doctor was very pleased with his progress. We can continue with food and start in purees. He recommended yellow, then greens then fruits. So starting tomorrow, we might start him with carrots or butternut squash.
Morning Monkey
One of my favorite times of the day is when I get to go in to get Forrest up (who is usually awake). This is second only to when both boys are asleep for the night by 8pm. We can usually here Forrest chatting away in his crib as early at 7am or 7:15am while we are getting ready. Once we get in there, this is usually what we see:
And a little closer...
Happy as a clam, just happy to be there.
And then he gets more company...
Who gets his attention right away!
He's really such a happy baby.
