Did you make any resolutions last year? Did you keep any? Looking back to last New Years, I realize it's a bit of a blur. What with having a 2 1/2 month old at the time, I think my only resolution was to get more sleep and stay upright at work. I am proud to say I accomplished both. Yayy me!
As the last 5 hours of 2009 dwindle away, I've started thinking of this years resolutions. Christopher is almost 15 months old so the more sleep thing isn't going to fly this year. This will actually be fun. I'll have record of my resolutions to look back on and reflect on later. (Perhaps not so fun later? We'll see)
1. Lose Weight - Oh that's the biggy right? That's probably on more than 3/4 of our lists. 2010 is a new "new" year. I mean look at it... 2010, it actually looks all nice and skinny, it's THE year to get "in shape".
2. Better Attitude - Lemons? Lemonaide... My goal is to try to look on the positive side of things more often. I have a wonderful life. A beautiful home, a wonderful husband, an amazing son, two terrific dogs and supportive famiy and friends. Right now, all I see is lemonaide...
3. More Slowcookin' - It's sometimes a bit crazy trying to get dinner on the table after working all day and then driving 30-45 minutes home. The few times I've used our slowcooker it's been amazing. We walk in the door with dinner ready and delicous. My goal is to starting using our slowcooker to make healthy meals that are ready when we get home more often. No so rushed, I know it's healthy, I know it's ready. Phhhheww...
I think that's it for now. We'll see how I do, wish me luck :)
Signing off for 2009.
See you all next year!
Love, Alexis

Christopher's Top Toy Choice for Christmas 2009
Drum roll please...
It's the Fisher-Price Little People Stack n' Sort Train
It's great since it also goes with this that Christopher's Uncle got for him.
The Fisher-Price Little People A Christmas Story
Christopher is loving these toys. It's been great to see him stacking and playing, opening and closing it. It's the perfect toy for where he's at right now. There is also and entire set of Little People stuff to grow with which is great.

Merry Christmas!!!!
What a day!!! This year Christmas was wonderful, they all are but this one was extra special. We had practiced with Christopher and started reading him Christmas books a few months ago. He knew where to point when you asked "where is Santa" about a month ago. He was ready. My parents stayed the night Christmas eve so after waking, Christopher when right in to say good morning.
A little different from last Christmas morning...
He was so tiny!!!
We had a wonderful morning. Just taking our time, eating breakfast...
Some of us ate earlier...
And then we started opening gifts. We started with Christopher's so he could take his nap. Watch his face...
Christopher got rubber ducks (which he loves), lots of books (which he loves)
He also got clothes and toys. Everyone was so generous.
He loved unwrapping the gifts...
He loved his pirate pjs from his Godfather, Uncle Tim...
He was WAY more into it than we thought a 14 month old would be...
A short little video...
His favorite toy was the Cookie Monster toy. He talks when you shake him up and down.
Then off to my parents for Christmas Dinner. Christopher's toy he got from his Great Aunt Mary Pat was great and entertained him for quite a bit while mommy and grandma cooked (mostly grandma).
The table was set beautifully.
All in all, this was a great Christmas. Junior was more aware, he had a great time. He took his naps (which are great for the rest of us). My parents got to know our new dog Cody really well with positive results. Spartan (our first dog) got to see his Grandpa again (I think he'd been in withdrawal) and we spent the day with family. It was great.

So sad...
This woman has lost everything this Christmas, it is so sad. I said I would post to spread word for help. If you just forward the information on, it's helping.
Ready?
Is everyone ready for Christmas?
I think we are. Christopher loves the "trees, lights!!" plus of course the "duck, dog and socks!" Gifts are under the tree, stockings are hung, lights are hung....
ps... I have photos burning a small hole in my computer. We got a surprise Sunday that I'm going to share.

Reading...
The love of books. It's something that we all hope our kids will develop. Junior has developed a love of books already. Or "bak" as he'd say. He loves his books, the different books. He has favorites, and so far none he doesn't like.
Soon he won't need us for nap time. I mean look at him!
And the video...

Christopher Update
Update on Christopher:
His vocabulary now includes:
Mama
Dad
Dag (Dog)
Cat
Hose (Horse without the r)
Lights
Tee (Tree)
Santa (more like Santa without the first a)
That
This
Look
Sock
Buubuu (Bottle)
Bak (Book)
And more I'm sure that we haven't caught on to. This is what happens when his vocabulary increases during Christmas. I think he about spazzed when we got to Grandma and Grandpas with all the decorations. All Christopher would say while pointing, "This? This? That? Look! That? That? Look!" We had to remove him to the kitchen.
Daddy taught Christopher how to give high fives. He loves it. Saturday he started clapping. Loves it too. So fun to watch. Walks around clapping. He clapped at the Forty-Niners a lot tonight! GO NINERS!
His croup is gone, but I guess according to the doctors at my office the cough can linger for a while. He's doing really well.
I think he's having a growth spurt in length. It's crazy how big he seems to be all of a sudden.
He walks very well. He can even get to a stand with out assistance, just sticks his little butt in the air and up he goes. Cute. He can catch himself much better while walking. This means he's trying to... run.. ugh. He gets going in a circle and watch out.
He mimicks like crazy. I was playing with him and put a toy on his head. He laughed, then walked around for 10 minutes holding it to the top of his head.
He has a toy cell phone. I'm not sure where he picked this up (insert sarcasam) but he will talk into it then put it to his ear (mimicking mommy or daddy). It's VERY cute.
He LOVES books. We can't go into his room with out hearing "Bak?" He knows where they are, he wants to read them, wants us to read them to him, and will whine if we don't. Nap times sometimes include us saying "No more books, it's nap time". Oh, and on that note, he knows "lay down". Pretty cute. (oh wait, I've said that before)
In summary, Christopher is fun, cute and VERY entertaining. I'll try to get more photos to go up soon.

What's red, green and striped all over?
It's the Dickens!
Wow, I'm behind on posts... it's been busy.
Well, last week when David's parents were here, we had our annual Dicken's Christmas Party at my parents house. It was great to catch up with all the family and friends that were able to make it.
Junior ate dinner early so he'd be able to mingle.
While his grandma's fussed over him
The tree was beautiful
Decorations out...
and Bows hung...
Then we took some photos...
David and his mom and dad...
With the little man...
The three generations of Christopher's
And all of us...
Yeah, it's hard to get everyone looking at the camera at once with out this...
It's perfect except for the toddler that's moving at the speed of light in the middle.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

We have a tree!!!
David's parents arrived safe and sound yesterday. We are so excited to have them hear and to have them get to spend time with Junior. They haven't seen him since this time last year (except for webcam sessions) so a lot is different. We went out today to get our tree and had so much fun.
Christopher fell asleep on the way up so he was a bit groggy when we got there. But he perked up right away.
Our first stop was Rudolph!!
Rudolph was a perfect match to the new shoes Angela dropped off for him today.
Then on to the tree... wow... lots of trees...
More trees...
Trees... on and on and on and on...
lots of thought went into this tree...
Junior loved all the trees...
He was very serious about the whole thing...
He also wanted to touch them...
My two men....
Junior had fun with Grandma...
Look at this hot grandma!!!
While the guys thought more about which tree to take home...
I tried to get a "xmas photo" of Junior, but he was more interested in the rocks...
Grandma tried to get her face up there... and Junior just seems to be interested in the presents...
My little elf...
Again, trying to get a "xmas photo" and he just wants to show me the hay.
He and Grandma had a "moment"...
I think he's actually trying to take it all in..
Then we ended with a photo of us... I love this little man so much.
Photos of the chosen tree to come.... stay tuned.
