Lions and Bikes Oh My!

So I know he's a little young, but I thought I'd get Christopher one of those backpack/harness things to let him get use to it. Plus, he's just starting to try to run so it could turn out to be perfect timing. I swore I'd never put a leash on my kid, but when he wants to go, he can go.

Meet Lion, or "roooarrr" as Christopher calls him.

He loves it almost as much as he loves the Playstation controller.

But he's diffently a kid on a mission when he's got his backpack on.

As I'm posting these, I've noticed I've failed to take them time to undo my child's demon eye.

I actually love this photo.

It's just him and his buddy hanging out. The way Christopher is holding the controller is funny and it's just cute with the lion next to him. Once the backpack is off, he actually plays with it like a stuffed animal. Double bonus!

Again with the demon eyes! Argh!

And then Christopher spent a good five mintues trying to buckle the lion back up.

And then it was off to motorcycles and buggies...

Picking his ride for the evening...

This was so cute, you'll see it in the videos. He pulled and pulled at the motorcycle to get it out but it was stuck. I helped a bit. As soon as it was free he went for the buggie. It was really cute. The kids knows what he wants, that's for sure.

He rode the motorcycle for a bit...

Then got off and was distracted by the nice, bright, shinny remote control. It was all over then.

And yes, my son appears to be low-ridding his pants with the always stylish disney diaper showing. I guess it's the new trend with toddlers. We're planning a "talk".

Spoons and Things Part 2

A self-feeding toddler. It's like asking for a cat that goes to the potty and flushes by himself. Ok, weird thought. And we don't even have a cat and I think our dogs would break our toilet. Ok, moving on.

As I mentioned in the last post, we have had a special guest for our next attempt at self-feeding.

Meet Cookie Monster:

He kept Christopher company after dinner.

See how much cleaner Christopher is? He had meatballs and veggies for dinner and did great.

As you can see in the photo above, Christopher insisted on keeping a hand very close to Cookie Monster.

Christopher loved his mozzarella and prosciutto snack...

Silly Boy!

It was Wednesday yesterday???

Where was I yesterday when I posted my Wish List Wednesday post yesterday, TUESDAY?? Hmmm? A bit tired? Out of it? I just put 2/19 as a date somewhere... wow. Tuesday? Wednesday, Friday??? I'm really not sure. No one else said anything about the post being a day off. Lovely. Guess I should just be happy I know it's March. I mean February...

Spoons and Things Part 1

We've been fairly lucky when we feed Christopher that it doesn't end up a complete mess. I mean, we are the ones doing all of the work, it would technically be our fault if it ends up all over the place right?

Well, we've delved into a new realm of feeding our child. We aren't, he's starting to feed himself. The whole, "this isn't so bad of a mess" thing is gone, over, kaput.

So we started out by buying these:

Yes, you can find a baby gadget for every baby need. They are awesome I think. They suction to the table/highchair and sometimes we can't even get them off. When we go to a restaurant I can even just put them on his table and voila!

We stuck on his bib, rolled up the sleeves (like this would really help at all), put the dogs outside (since Christopher likes to "feed" the dogs) and we started.

Oh my... I think it's everywhere!!!

He does like his food.

Of course, he doesn't seem to get the idea of the spoon. Daddy was cooling it down my poking at it and stirring it around, he caught on to it too quick.

Attempt #2 next with a special guest appearance.

Wish List Wednesday

Wow, what is to go on my Wish List this Wednesday???

How about some extra time in the day.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It just goes too fast. Monday's here, Friday's gone...arghhh!!! I barely have time to get my day in order and it's over.

How about a one of these?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This would be nice.... so nice... to come  home to dinner already prepared. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to cook. However, combine a full work day with at least a half hour commute each way, taking care of Christopher, bathtime, bedtime, etc.... it's tough. I am working at using my slow cooker more often so dinner's ready when we get home. I love walking in the door to the smell of dinner ready to go.

I think that's it for this wish list. Till next week.

How do I love thee?

If we are talking about my husband David, which I am, the answer is a lot. "A lot a lot"

Yes, I meant to post this yesterday, Valentine's Day. But I have a 16 month old that only wanted "Mama". I guess I was his Valentine of choice yesterday.

David and I meet online at Match.com eight years ago. Among all the crazies, we found each other. We talked, we learned about each other, and we fell in love before we even had our first date.

The future Mrs.

The above photos were our actual profile pictures on match.com. From a longggggggg time ago.

Yes, it's cheesy, but it was pretty much obvious, that this was the one. And he was... 2 years later...

David is an amazing husband. He is smart, handsome, understanding, thoughtful, compassionate, stubborn (In the case of dealing with me, this is often times a good thing). He is also an amazing, wonderful and perfect father.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

David is one of the reasons why I am as strong as I am today, why I feel encouraged when he says I can and I say I can't. He's the reason why I know, without a doubt, that our son will grow into an amazing man, boyfriend, husband and friend. He is an amazing friend, confidant, listener, shoulder to lean on and person. If you know David, you know he has faults (who doesn't) but he more than makes up for them in other ways. He's known by me as Dave, David, Bear, Honey and Dad.

I couldn't imagine my life with out him and he is my Valentine now and forever.

Happy (belated) Valentines Day Bear!

Update on Notices

So when I started this blog, I added certain people on the list of who gets and email with a new post. I have a few people on that list and want to make sure you still want on. If you still want your inbox flooded with the "what's happenings" from the Wing World, great, wonderful, perfect. If you don't, and no bad feelings at ALL, reply to the email and just let me know "Lex, really, I don't need an email everytime Christopher smiles...". And I'll remove you... no worries, no hard feelings (plus I get to add someone else on maybe???) so let me know.

Ok, this "It's A Wing Thing" Public Service Annnouncement is now completed. We return you to your regularly scheduled blogging.

Wish List Wednesday

I'm loving Wish List Wednesday.... fun times to imagine :)

What is on my Wish List this Wednesday?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I'd like the last, oh, 4 seasons of Heros on DVD. We use to watch it religiously, then didn't have cable, then had a baby, now I'm so behind it's painful to see it come on tv. I want to watch, but I can't...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

How about a day off just to have a day off? Not because I'm sick (or Christopher is sick), not because of something else, but just because.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

How about the New Orleans Saints winning the Super Bowl? Oh wait, that happened? GO SAINTS! What an awesome game. Now on to celebrating...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And last but not least, my backyard. I would love for my backyard to be finished and beautiful and ready for Christopher to play in this spring. We are on our way, but I can't wait. It's on my list.

And no, it isn't that big and that isn't my backyard. I live in Salinas people!

Milk!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I never thought I'd be so happy about milk. Whole milk at that. Right before Thanksgiving, we found out Christopher was allergic to cows milk and peanuts. He had a rash type thing on his arms and legs that we thought was the reaction to the cows milk. After a few months of no cows milk and no real change to the rash, our doctor said we could start him back on cows milk and watch him carefully.

He started it again on Friday. And I'm happy to report, no reactions. I am sooo happy about this. He had only gained 3 oz between his 12 month and 15 month appointments (not good) and we thought it was from the lack of fat from no milk. So this will be good to get him back to it. He loves it, is doing great and is even drinking it cold out of the fridge which is great. He's 99% off the bottle and only on sippy cups.

He also doesn't take a bottle for naps or bedtime anymore which is great. We also just discovered that he's great with a straw. So now I can move him to sippy cups with straws which will be even better for him.

So all in all, it's nice be buying whole milk again for our little man.

Peanuts is a whole other thing. We aren't even going to go there till he's at least two.

This guy will just have to wait.

Wish List Wednesday

A fellow mommy from thebump.com has a cute blog about her life with twin girls (adorable) located here and she does a weekly "Wish List Wednesday". I thought it would be fun to play along.

Being a mom of a toddler and owner of a new home, it's usually pretty hard to come up with anything I "want" and don't "need".

**Disclaimer** I am NOT just happening to start this particular weekly post because Saturday is my birthday. Nope, not at all. We'll see if David reads my blog :)

Ok, here goes. What I wish I had...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera
with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black)

Because I am LOVING taking photos of Christopher, life, etc. and I want them to be BETTER pictures.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

How about photography classes so I know how to use by brand spanking new camera.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I would love a necklace with Christopher's name and date of birth on it.

Want to play along? What things do you want? Write a post, grab the Wish List Wednesday button here:

Then, sign Mr. Linky and let me know you've played along!

Party on dude!

Sunday we headed up to Dave and Busters for a friends birthday party. We thought it would be good to get up north to see friends, get out of the house, and it would be a whole new experience for Christopher.

We started off at the pool tables. Christopher played with a pool ball for a little while.

These are out of focus but they are too cute not to share. But I was holding Junior and the camera and he kept trying to snuggle with Daddy without leaving my arms. He's been very Mommy-Clingy the last week.
